On Sep 11th 2017, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam – Mr. Nguyen Xuan Cuong, Deputy Minister of MARD– Mr. Vu Van Tam and leaders of MARD, and leaders of Directorate of Fisheries (D-Fish) had a meeting with Ambassador Bruno Angelet, Head of Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam and EU Trade Counselors in Vietnam with an aim to discussing and sharing information on the implementation of EU’s recommendations on combating IUU fishing in Vietnam.
SWITZERLAND IMPORTS OVER 50 PERCENT SHRIMP FROM VIETNAM
During the 10-year period (2007-2016), Vietnam was consistently the largest shrimp supplier for Switzerland, accounting for over 50 percent of total Swiss shrimp imports.
EXPORTS OF PROCESSED TUNA TO MEXICO CONTINUED THE RISE
As of the first half of Oct 2017, Vietnam’s tuna exports to Mexico reached US$10.73 million, up 80.1% over the same period last year. In 2017, tuna exports to markets grew positively, in which sales to Israel and Mexico showed the highest growth.
JAN-OCT 2017: UP IN VIETNAM TUNA EXPORTS TO EU
In the first 10 months of 2017, Vietnam’s tuna exports to the EU reached US$115.5 million, accounting for 23.7% of the total export value and increasing by 31.4% over the same period in 2016.
